A Focus on Accessibility
This collection featured work completed and compiled over the last couple semesters working with disabled bodies, featuring clothing adapted from patterns designed for people with dwarfism and modular elements for people with temporary disabilities.
Modularity
Cotton denim jeans featuring removable pant legs for cast access and a drop waist, faux boxer waistband for comfortable seated positions.
Silk organza double breasted button up with open shoulders for cast accommodations.
And Careful Design
Sustainably sourced from donated bedding, this cotton striped button up features sleeves that open from cuff to collar with buttons for cast and sling access.
The shorts are re-patterned and up cycled from an early fashion design fail, using extra fabric from the pant’s yardage above to create a two-tone short with the same boxer based drop waist for comfort.
Styled with a self chiffon, baby-hemmed scarf.
Adaptability
A soft yellow, silk chiffon and silk satin ruched princess seam babydoll dress featuring a lace up back and an inset under corset translated from patterns for a woman with dwarfism.
Styled with a cotton moleskin jacket with open elbows for sling/cast accessibility, a reversible zipper, and double welt pockets.
